Leah is a dedicated and highly experienced occupational therapist with over 14 years working across hospital and community settings. Originally trained in the UK, she brings a client centred, compassionate approach to supporting older adults on the Sunshine Coast to live safely and independently in their own homes.
With a special interest in rehabilitation and aged care, Leah enjoys working closely with clients to problem solve everyday challenges, whether it’s identifying the right equipment, improving home access, or restoring confidence after illness or injury. She values the trust placed in her and takes pride in tailoring her care to reflect each person’s unique needs and goals.
Leah’s passion for in home therapy was sparked during her time in inpatient care, where she saw firsthand how many people were waiting for community support. Joining Encompass Health Services gave her the opportunity to provide more responsive and proactive care in the place that matters most – her clients’ homes. She appreciates the team’s collaborative and multidisciplinary approach, which ensures holistic, connected care for every client.
Before becoming an OT, Leah trained and worked as a dental nurse. Her caring nature, attention to detail, and ability to build rapport have carried through into her current role, where she continues to be known for her warmth, empathy, and quiet determination.
Outside of work, Leah is happiest outdoors exploring rainforest trails, enjoying beach walks with her family, and spotting the Sunshine Coast’s rich birdlife. Since emigrating to Australia over a decade ago, she’s developed a deep love for native birds and hopes to one day create an aviary of her own.
