Tara is a Community Occupational Therapist who supports individuals to live as safely and independently as possible within their own home environment. Following a home functional assessment Tara will provide advice, strategies, assistive technology, or equipment for performing meaningful tasks. She also recommends and advises on minor or major adaptations to the home environment.
Tara has extensive and varied experience as an therapist particulary in the area of Disability Services, early intervention service (clinic based and home visits) to children (and their families) who have a moderate to severe developmental and/or intellectual delay, utilising a combination of sensory integration theory, neurodevelopmental therapy, and child directed approaches.
She is attentive, and dedicated to working alongside her clients to find practical and personalised solutions to barriers to independence and participation in their chosen activities.
Tara graduated from the University of Queensland and has since lived and worked in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Venezuela, Ireland, Central Queensland, and the Sunshine Coast. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family (and dog) on the Blackall Range.
